Sirona Cares for Schools Program

Sirona Cares and Sirona Fuels have launched the Sirona Cares for Schools program; a program that turns used cooking oil into a way to help our local schools.

Sirona Cares Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity, based in San Francisco. Its primary mission is to build sustainable communities. For Sirona Cares, this means taking care of children and helping to build on economic base that will provide sustainable jobs for those children when they grow up.

Sirona Cares is best known for the development and relief work it has been doing in Haiti. This work focuses on caring for orphans and schools, developing a sustainable bio-fuel farming project that does not compete with food crops, and deploying renewable electricity in rural areas to support additional job creation.

Domestically, Sirona Cares supports local schools and other organizations that care for our children, and looks for ways to help promote future jobs for those children.

Sirona Fuels is a biodiesel producer and owns the Blue Sky Bio-Fuels refinery in Oakland. Sirona Fuels believes that used cooking oil is a critical component of the biodiesel industry.Sirona Fuels is working to promote the availability and use of this extremely low carbon biodiesel and build local, green-collar jobs.
